Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Introduction
Voz Translate, also referred to as Voz Voice Notes or simply "Voz" ("the App"), is operated by Nevermind Software, LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App and our website at voztranslate.com, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App. Using the App means you have read and understood this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details: your email address and name, and, if you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides us (which may be a private relay email address).
- Voice samples: a short recording (about 15 seconds) that you make in the app to create your voice clone.
- Voice notes: the recordings you make in the app, their transcripts, and their translations.
- Content you choose to share: when you create a share link for a voice note, the translated audio, transcript, and a generated video are published at a link that anyone who has it can open.
- Support requests: anything you send us when you contact support.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: which screens you visit, buttons you tap, features you use (for example, cloning your voice, translating a note, viewing the paywall), and when you open the app.
- Session replays: recordings of how you move through the app (see Section 7).
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version and build, language and locale, time zone, network type (Wi-Fi or cellular), and whether the app is running on a simulator or a TestFlight build.
- Approximate location: an approximate location (country, region, and city) derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Identifiers: a random installation identifier, your Firebase authentication ID, your RevenueCat customer ID, Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV), push notification tokens, and, only if you allow tracking in iOS (see Section 6), Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Crash and performance data: crash logs and diagnostic information when the app runs into problems.
- Subscription information: which subscription you bought, its price and currency, its status (active, trial, expired, refunded), and App Store transaction identifiers. We never see or store your credit card details; payments are handled entirely by Apple.
- Advertising and attribution data: if you installed Voz after seeing one of our ads, we may receive information about that ad (for example, the ad network, campaign, and the time of the click or view) so we can understand which ads work (see Section 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the App: create and use your voice clone, transcribe and translate your voice notes, generate translated audio, and let you share notes.
- Manage your account and subscription: authenticate you, sync your premium status across devices, and process purchases through Apple.
- Communicate with you: send push notifications about your account, your voice notes, or the service, and reply to support requests.
- Understand and improve the App: analyze how the App is used, find and fix bugs and crashes, and test changes to onboarding, paywalls, and features.
- Market the App: measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and understand which campaigns bring people who find Voz useful, and show you ads for Voz on other platforms.
- Keep the service safe: detect abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
We share information with the service providers below only to the extent needed for them to do their job for us. Each of them is bound by contractual terms and their own privacy policy.
4.1 Voice processing and AI
- Cartesia (https://cartesia.ai/legal/privacy): receives the voice sample you record in order to create and store your voice clone, and receives translated text to synthesize speech in your cloned voice.
- OpenAI (https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy): receives the voice recordings you make in the app and their transcripts in order to transcribe and translate them.
We ask for your explicit consent in the app before any voice recording is sent to these providers, and we tell you at that point what is shared and with whom.
4.2 Infrastructure, storage, and authentication
- Convex (https://www.convex.dev/privacy): hosts our database and file storage. Your profile, voice IDs, voice notes, transcripts, translations, and shared media are stored here. It also serves our website and share links.
- Firebase by Google (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy): provides authentication (Sign in with Apple and email/password) and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Apple: provides Sign in with Apple, the App Store, in-app purchases, and push notification delivery.
4.3 Subscriptions
- RevenueCat (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy): manages subscriptions and entitlements and validates purchases with Apple. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase information, and forwards purchase events to our analytics and attribution partners listed below.
4.4 Analytics and notifications
- PostHog (https://posthog.com/privacy): product analytics and session replay (see Section 7).
- OneSignal (https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy): push notifications.
4.5 Advertising and attribution
- AppsFlyer (https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy/): a mobile measurement partner that helps us attribute app installs and purchases to the ads that led to them.
- TikTok for Business (https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/global/privacy-policy/en): advertising platform on which we run ads for Voz.
- Meta Platforms, including Facebook and Instagram (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/): advertising platform on which we run ads for Voz.
- Apple Ads (https://searchads.apple.com/privacy): advertising on the App Store, with attribution provided through Apple's AdServices framework.
Section 6 explains what these partners receive and how you can limit it.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share your voice recordings, voice clone, transcripts, or translations with advertising partners.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your profile, voice IDs, voice notes, and shared media are stored in Convex. Your voice clone itself is stored by Cartesia under your voice ID.
- Authentication credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication. We never store your password in plain text.
- Data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
- Access to personal data within our company is limited to the people who need it to operate and support the App.
- No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and we will tell you if something goes wrong (see Section 13).
6. Advertising, Attribution, and Tracking
We advertise Voz on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and the App Store. To know whether those ads work, we use AppsFlyer and the platforms' own measurement tools.
6.1 What is shared for attribution
When you install and use Voz, the following may be shared with AppsFlyer and, through it, with the advertising platform that showed you an ad:
- That the app was installed and opened, and when.
- Conversion events such as viewing the paywall, starting a trial, subscribing, and the price and currency of the subscription. Product and event names are shared; your voice content never is.
- Device information such as device model, OS version, language, IP address, and Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV).
- Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you have allowed tracking (see 6.2).
- Aggregated, privacy-preserving attribution provided by Apple's SKAdNetwork and AdServices frameworks, which do not identify you individually.
6.2 App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, we may ask for your permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you allow it, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with our attribution and advertising partners so that installs and purchases can be matched to the ad you saw. If you do not allow it, we rely on Apple's privacy-preserving attribution only and do not share the IDFA.
You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, either for Voz specifically or for all apps.
6.3 Your advertising choices
- Turn off tracking for Voz in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Limit personalized ads from Apple in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
- Adjust ad preferences directly in your TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook account settings.
- Email support@nevermind.llc to ask us to stop sharing your information with advertising partners (see Section 17 for California residents).
7. Analytics and Session Recording
We use PostHog for analytics, including session replay. This means:
- Complete sessions within the App may be recorded and replayed by us, including navigation, taps, scrolling, and the screens you see.
- Text you type into text fields (for example, your email, password, or display name) is masked in replays and is not visible to us.
- Payment details are never recorded; purchases happen in Apple's own payment sheet, which is outside the App.
- Voice recordings are not part of session replays.
- Session replays are stored for 90 days and are only accessible to authorized personnel.
- We use replays and analytics to fix bugs, understand where people get stuck, and improve the App. We do not share session replays with advertising partners.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, voice cloning or tracking).
- Data portability.
- Complain to a data protection authority.
You can delete your voice clone and your account from within the App. For anything else, contact us as described in Section 9.
9. Data Subject Requests
To exercise your rights, email support@nevermind.llc from the email address associated with your account, or from another address with enough information for us to verify that the account is yours.
We respond to legitimate requests within 30 days. For complex requests we may take longer, and we will tell you if that is the case. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Voice Data Rights
10.1 Voice cloning consent
We require your explicit consent in the App before creating your voice clone and before sending any recording to our voice processing providers. You can revoke this consent at any time by deleting your voice clone in the App, which deletes the clone from our providers as well.
10.2 Voice data usage
Your voice clone is used exclusively to generate translated audio for your own voice notes in the App. We do not use your voice sample or your voice clone to train AI models, and we do not share them with advertising partners.
11. Data Retention
- Account information: for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days after you delete your account, except where we must keep it for legal reasons.
- Voice samples and voice clones: until you delete your clone or your account.
- Voice notes, transcripts, translations, and shared links: until you delete them or your account. Shared links stop working once the underlying note is deleted.
- Session replays: 90 days.
- Analytics events: for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, currently up to 7 years, and deleted earlier on request.
- Crash logs: 90 days.
- Attribution data held by AppsFlyer and advertising platforms: according to their own retention periods, typically up to 24 months.
- Subscription records: for as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal and accounting requirements.
12. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App does not use browser cookies, but it does use similar technologies such as local storage, device identifiers, and caching to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, improve performance, and provide analytics and attribution. Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics.
13. Data Breach Notification
If a data breach affects your personal information, we will:
- Notify you by email and/or in-app notification without undue delay, and in any case within 72 hours of confirming the breach where required by law.
- Explain what data was affected and what we are doing about it.
- Give guidance on how to protect yourself.
- Report the breach to the relevant authorities as required by law.
14. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Voice cloning features are only available to users 18 and older. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from yours. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements with our providers.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it was last changed. For material changes we will notify you in the App or by email before the change takes effect.
17. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, and why.
- Access and receive a copy of your personal information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing device identifiers and conversion events with advertising and attribution partners for the purpose of measuring and targeting ads may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out of this by turning off tracking for Voz in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and by emailing support@nevermind.llc with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information". We honor opt-out preference signals where we are technically able to detect them.
In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2, used them for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed them to the providers in Section 4.
18. European Privacy Rights (GDPR and UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of our contract with you: providing the App, your account, and your subscription.
- Your consent: creating your voice clone, sending recordings to our voice processing providers, tracking across apps for advertising, and marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Our legitimate interests: analytics, crash reporting, fraud prevention, security, and measuring our advertising, balanced against your rights.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
You have the rights listed in Section 8, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
19. Accessibility
We are committed to making the App accessible to people with disabilities. If you encounter accessibility barriers, please contact us at support@nevermind.llc.
